WhosTalkin.com Review By Reputation Armor

WhosTalkin.com is branded as a blog search tool, WhosTalkin is actually much more. With a very simple design, you can search across blogs, major news sites, social media and many others. The site is very fast and found the results I expected to see when I searched my name. Highly recommended site here. Great site to monitor online chatter about you or your company.

Everyzing Review By Reputation Armor

everyzing - this multimedia search engine lets you find mentions in audio podcasts or video clips and their description texts. I love the way the multimedia results let you jump to the exact moment where your keywords are said. Like any self-respecting Web2.0 tool, you can subscribe to the RSS feed of the search results too.

Update On New Site Launch

New site release delayed but coming soon! Our new site release is coming soon. We have thought of some additional changes that we would like to make to our site before launching the new layout and version of ReputationArmor.com.

The web based client log-in system is almost complete so clients can log-in and track their campaign and view/download reports. The reports will give you all of the links to new content we gave create and backlinks we have generated for your campaign. This new tracking system will let you see progress and the work we have done.

Sometimes is takes search engines more time than expected to catch up with all of the new buzz online about you, and this system will give you a peek at content before Google picks it up.

Keep your eye out for the new client log-in link inteh top right-hand corner of reputation armor’s website. If you do not receive a client log-in from us once it is launched simply contact us and we will generate one. All new clients will get a client log-in within 3-4 days of launching a campaign with Reputation Armor.

We estimate the new site will be up and running by Oct. 6, 2009.

RapLeaf Review By Reputation Armor

RapLeaf.com is a website that scours the Internet to find information about a given person based on their email address. Sign up for free and tell Rapleaf about any email addresses you use. Within a few hours, RapLeaf will have results to show you. No longer as impressive as it used to be, the results about me were minimal after weeks of searching.

Use A No-Index Tag To Keep Pages Off Google

To prevent all robots (search engines) from indexing a page on your site, place the following meta tag into the <head> section of your page:

<meta name=”robots” content=”noindex”>

To allow other robots to index the page on your site, preventing only Google’s robots from indexing the page use:

<meta name=”googlebot” content=”noindex”>

When Google sees the noindex meta tag on a page, Google will completely drop the page from their search results, even if other pages link to it. Other search engines, however, may interpret this directive differently. As a result, a link to the page can still appear in their search results.

In closing: If you do not want people to find a certain page online through the search engines then use this noindex tag. Wish we could all add noindex to any page we wanted! This would make search engine reputation management easy (but a dead industry).

Facebook or Not To Facebook?

FaceBook is one of the largest social networking sites online and even if you only have a handful of friends you are bound to find a few on there. A lot of Reputation Armor clients ask if they should create a FaceBook account? The answer is yes and if you don’t we will. FaceBook works well as a Search Engine Reputation  Management Tool.

FaceBook will rank well on Google when people search your name and no one can see the content on your FaceBook account unless you want them to or they are your “friend” on facebook. This makes Facebook a safe site to create an account on and Google will pick it up within a few days and in most cases it will rank high for you. So go for it!

Sometimes A Pause Is Needed

Online Reputation Management is an urgent issue, however it can not be rushed. Sometimes it is very important to take a break or pause when creating new content and submitting it to Google. If you are creating hundreds of posts/items a day when there is normally only 10 a week about you or your company, Google may “sandbox” or ignore a lot of it. Sometime pausing or slowly dripping new content and backlinks will get you to your goal faster than rushing and pushing too much out there too fast.

There is always work to be done so by pausing you can catch up on updating and getting involved in your social profiles and commnities you are a member of. The stronger your social sites are the stronger they will rank. Strength will come from using them frequently and being a part of the network.
